It wasn’t love at first sight for Steve and Joanna, seeing as we met in 3rd grade, but fast forward almost 30 years, and we’ve been married for over 10 years and have 2 beautiful boys. Steve is an experienced entrepreneur, having owned several successful businesses, and Joanna is a renowned professional photographer.
In 2009 we moved from our hometown in Southern California to Nashville, TN, where we made a wonderful life. Our children were born there, and we made so many wonderful friends. However, after 11 years in Tennessee, we needed a change, and Steve jumped on a business opportunity in Jacksonville, FL, where he brought much growth and success to the company.
But something was missing in our lives. We were tired of the daily grind and the stress that comes with owning your own business with several employees that depend on you for their livelihood. We wanted more in life. We wanted to spend more time together as a family, and also see parts of this beautiful country that we’ve never seen before. We wanted our children to get to experience things that most only dream of experiencing.
So, in the summer of 2021, we sold our beautiful home in Florida to travel the country full time in an RV. Though we didn’t yet have a rig or a plan, we rented a small apartment until Steve sold his business. We spent the next 4 months at Jo’s parents’ house in California, where we purchased our 2021 Grand Design Momentum 397TH and renovated it from top to bottom (literally).
So far, we have an entire year mapped out, and most of our reservations at various campgrounds across the country have been confirmed. Joanna will continue homeschooling our boys on the road, and we will be documenting our travels here on our blog, and on YouTube and Instagram.
